Наш корреспондент, Максим Рапопорт связался с Президентом Альянса Народов Мира, Послом
Мира, д-ром Александером Шапиро – Сулиманом.

Корр. Уважаемый д-р Александер ! Прежде всего, конечно, хочу Вас спросить о вчерашнем
событии № 1 – соглашении между Израилем и Объединенными Арабскими Эмиратами . Что Вы
думаете об этом событии и каковы его перспективы для нас, для Израиля, для Арабского Мира и
вообще Мира в целом ?
А.Ш.С. В своем вчерашнем комментарии на страницах FB, я заявил: Сегодня наступил
исторический день – это достижение Израиля и ОАЭ: подписали соглашение о нормализации
отношений. Делегации из Израиля и Объединенных Арабских Эмиратов, которые встретятся в
ближайшие дни для подписания соглашений в области безопасности, прямых рейсов, инвестиций,
культуры и здравоохранения при посредничестве Соединенных Штатов. Обе страны договорятся
об открытии посольств. Альянс народов мира Федерации соотечественников, проживающих за
рубежом “Друзья Израиля” с большой радостью приняли это событие. Это событие в сентябре в
городе Сочи мы с гордостью и с радостью будем отмечать на Форуме. Сегодня началась новая эра
в отношениях Израиля с арабским миром.
А народу Объединенных Арабских Эмиратов и лидеру страны наследному принцу Мухаммаду бен
Заид мы говорим: Шалом алейхем и шалом алейну, мир всем нам!
Но самое главное в этом событии, это ни подписанные документы и ни заявления политиков –
самое главное, это радость на лицах людей, как в Израиле, так и Арабских Эмиратах. За последний
день я разговаривал со многими друзьями как из Арабских и Мусульманских стран так и из
Израиля, и у всех у них – ощущение полнейшего восторга !
Мы все устали от войн и вражды, и вчерашнее событие показывает, насколько мы все поумнели.
Ведь установление добрых отношений между соседями – братьями, враждовавшими ни одно
десятилетие – это прежде всего, признак Политической Мудрости.
Корр. Это событие каким то образом скорректирует планы Альянса народов Мира, Economic Peace
Center и Федерации соотечественников и друзей Израиля «Хаверим Исраэль» – организаций
которыми Вы руководите ?
А.Ш.С. Я бы уточнил: вчерашнее замечательное Событие, во многом – итог работы этих
Организаций, и прежде всего Economic Peace Center , Президентом которого является мой добрый
друг и соратник Аюб Кара. По этому, корректировка теперь может быть только в сторону
активизации, в сторону наращивания связей и контактов, в сторону запуска реальных программ и
проектов. Это все то, о чем мы будем говорить на предстоящем сентябрьском Форуме в Сочи,
среди участников которого, мы ожидаем представительную делегацию из Объединенных
Арабских Эмиратов и других Арабских стран.
Корр. Хочу заметить, что не все представители Арабского мира в восторге от достигнутого
соглашения, кое кто говорит о том, что Руководители ОАЭ предали Арабскую борьбу против
Израиля. Как Вы это можете прокомментировать ?
А.Ш.С. Знаете, это как раз, тот самый случай, комментарии излишни. Лучшим комментарием
являются экономические показатели наших Стран и уровень жизни их жителей. И отношение
самих жителей к произошедшему Событию. А все остальное, просто банальная зависть по поводу
чужих успехов. Это очень деструктивное чувство, которое вредит прежде всего, его носителю.
В наше время очень сложно делать что либо, вопреки здравому смыслу и глобальным
тенденциям. А тенденции таковы, что без добрососедских отношений мы обречены плестись на
задворках Мирового прогресса. Если кому то эта роль по душе, и он никак не может ее оставить –
ну что ж, это его выбор. Но выбор, как мы видим, не вполне успешный. И все таки мы, люди
доброй воли, надеемся, что здравый смысл победит.

The most important thing is the joy on the faces of
people, both in Israel and the United Arab Emirates
Our correspondent, Maxim Rapoport, contacted the President of the Alliance of Peoples of the World,
Ambassador of Peace, Dr. Alexander Shapiro – Suliman.

Corr. Dear Dr. Alexander, First of all, of course, I would like to ask you about yesterday’s event No. 1 –
the agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates. What do you think about this event and
what are its prospects for us, for Israel, for the Arab World and the World in general?
A. Sh.S. In my commentary yesterday on the FB pages, I said: Today is a historic day – this is the
achievement of Israel and the UAE: they signed an agreement to normalize relations. Delegations from
Israel and the United Arab Emirates who will meet in the coming days to sign agreements on security,
direct flights, investment, culture and health through the mediation of the United States. Both countries
will agree to open embassies. The Alliance of the Nations of the Federation of Compatriots Living Abroad
“Friends of Israel” welcomed this event with great joy. We are proud and happy to celebrate this event
in September in the city of Sochi at the Forum. A new era has begun today in Israel’s relations with the
Arab world. And to the people of the United Arab Emirates and the leader of the country, Crown Prince
Muhammad bin Zayed, we say: Shalom Aleichem and Shalom Aleinu, peace to all of us!
But the most important thing in this event is neither the signed documents nor the statements of
politicians – the most important thing is the joy on the faces of people, both in Israel and the United
Arab Emirates. Over the last day, I talked with many friends from both Arab and Muslim countries and
from Israel, and they all have a feeling of utter delight! We are all tired of wars and enmity, and
yesterday’s event shows how much wiser we all have become. After all, the establishment of good
relations between neighbors – brothers who have been at enmity for a single decade – is, above all, a
sign of Political Wisdom.

Corr. Will this event somehow adjust the plans of the Alliance of the Peoples of the World, the Economic
Peace Center and the Federation of Compatriots and Friends of Israel “Haverim Israel” – the
organizations you lead?
Sh.S. I would clarify: yesterday’s remarkable Event, in many respects, is the result of the work of these
Organizations, and above all the Economic Peace Center, whose President is my good friend and
colleague Ayoob Kara. Therefore, the adjustment now can only be in the direction of activation, in the
direction of building up ties and contacts, in the direction of launching real programs and projects. This
is all that we will talk about at the upcoming September Forum in Sochi, among the participants of
which we expect a representative delegation from the United Arab Emirates and other Arab countries.

Corr. I want to note that not all representatives of the Arab world are delighted with the agreement reached, some say that the leaders of the UAE have betrayed the Arab struggle against Israel. How can you comment on this?

Sh.S. You know, this is exactly the case, comments are superfluous. The best commentary is the economic indicators of our Countries and the standard of living of their inhabitants. And the attitude of the residents themselves to the event that happened. And everything else is just banal envy about other people’s successes. This is a very destructive feeling that harms, first of all, its bearer. In our time, it is very difficult to do anything, contrary to common sense and global trends. And the tendencies are such that without good-neighborly relations, we are doomed to trudge on the margins of world progress. If someone likes this role, and he cannot leave it in any way – well, this is his choice. But the choice, as we can see, is not entirely successful. And yet we people of goodwill hope that common sense will prevail.
